Most of the students in India wish to take up GATE exam and score good marks so that they will be able to get admission in top rated institutions for continuing their post graduation programs in M. Tech, M. Pharm and M.E. GATE exams are conducted jointly by the seven Indian Institutes of Technology and Indian Institute of Science.
Application Form Details:
Generally, the application form for the examination is sold from the last week of September of every year and the students will be required to submit the duly filled in application form before the first week of November. Application forms are also sold online and online submission of forms is allowed only until the last week of October every year. Online examination for Textile Engineering and Fiber Science and Mining Engineering papers are conducted during the first week of February and offline examination for other papers are conducted during the second week of February.
The results are declared in the middle of the month of March and the score is valid for two years from the date of declaration of the results. Since the result is valid for two years, students in the third year of their degree course can also apply for the GATE exam. Some organizations would like to get the GATE results for recruiting candidates with higher score for their organization and these organizations can get the results by submitting a written request to the GATE committee.
The GATE exam valuation team grades the test papers with extreme care so that the deserving candidates get good marks. Since the test papers are graded with utmost care there is no provision for re-totaling and re-grading of the answer sheets. Students cannot get the photocopy of the answer sheet. The marks obtained by the student will be useful for the students in getting admission in top rated institutes like IIT.
